Why Should You Attend The Auction?
Why should you attend the Gateway Woods Auction on Saturday, August 7th? There are so many reasons to physically show up at this event. I have attended for many years now and it has always been a rich blessing. My husband and I first volunteered in the weeks prior to the Auction but we were not able to attend Auction day. It was hard to see all the beautiful quilts and items to be auctioned and not actually be a part of it. It was at that time that we felt we should definitely attend Auction day next year. Since then we have attended every year possible and continued to volunteer to help get everything ready. That was many years ago and the Auction has grown so much since then. It is a special blessing to be there at the opening program with staff and children singing, the opening prayer, and the opening bid.
You will be privileged to meet dear friends both locally and from all across the country. There are so many interesting items to bid on and people of every age are represented. There are tours available to see the group homes and the food is wonderful! Hard to beat those grilled pork chops and home-baked pies! The best part of it all is the chance to help a very much-deserved charity. Not too often can you come home with delicious baked goods, a beautiful quilt or craft, and have the good feeling that you have helped some boys and girls find a God-filled home with loving houseparents, helpful counselors, and teachers. Giving throughout the year to Gateway Woods is very much appreciated, but the real blessing is to physically attend the Auction and experience where your gift is going.

Let Your Heart Be Moved
I am pleased to announce the MidOhio Chamber Players are planning a choir/orchestra benefit program to take place at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert, Ohio on Saturday, August 14 featuring the MOCP and Summer 2010 Apostolic Christian Church Choir. This program will benefit Eastern European World Relief, Gateway Woods, and Loving Shepherd Ministries. The theme "Let Your Heart Be Moved" will be shown throughout the evening. My aim in helping to organize this endeavor is to "provoke unto love and to good works" (Heb 10:24). As the Lord has used the past CD productions to uplift and encourage many, I trust and pray that He will do the same with the event this summer.
For future updates, see the MOCP website: MidOhioChamberPlayers.org. There is a prominent link there to the ticketing website.

Administrator's Letter
I want to thank you for your continued support of the Gateway Woods ministries. Even during the past and current economic uncertainties, we have felt the Lord’s hand in taking care of the needs of the children and families we work with through your efforts to support us with both prayers and donations.
I would like to invite everyone to join us on August 7th for our 34th annual Auction. The Auction is not only an encouragement to us, but our residents and families get an opportunity to witness and experience the Lord’s hand at work as so many of you come and share your time, talent, and resources with us.
Another point for praise has been the significant growth that we have experienced in the past year. We have increased the number of clients that we served by over 80%, which has been accomplished primarily through the increase in the Home-Based and Foster Care Programs.
As our client numbers have increased, so have their needs. This increased need is an opportunity to get out and speak with some of our supporters and share our continued successes and our needs with them. It has been an incredible encouragement to me to hear the support for the mission and ministry of Gateway Woods.
Thank you again for your support and I hope to see you at the Auction on August 7th. Be sure to stop me and say hello!
