Our Plan
As an outreach avenue for members and supporters of the Apostolic Christian Church, we will deliver exceptional restorative services to children and families by honoring our governing values.
Our Values
Christian Principles - The Bible, which includes the saving power and gospel of Jesus Christ, serves as the motivation, guide and final authority in all we do.
The Family - The core and cornerstone of society and our primary therapeutic tool. We will provide services to families and surrogate families for children who need security and guidance based on Biblical principles.
Commitment- Exemplified by optimism, resilience, determination, hard work, self-denial and unconditional love, our commitment is to Jesus Christ, each other, our clients, their families and our supporters.
Teamwork - Recognizing our individual limitations and the strengths and wisdom in numbers, we will work cooperatively with each other, our clients, our authorities and other professionals.

Programs &Services
Gateway Woods Apostolic Christian Children's Home was founded by love for lost and wounded children, by faith that God will provide and heal, and by obedience to God's Word and leading. In 1976, our residential childcare program opened two group homes on a beautiful 50-acre campus near Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Over the years, Gateway Woods' ministries have steadily grown:
Family-Focused Residential Care
Residential child care for abused, neglected or delinquent teens provided a caring, Christian environment has always been the heart of the Gateway Woods program. Our unique houseparent couple approach also involves the resident's family as team members. We also provide individual, group, and family counseling, parent training, frequent family contact, plus a program designed specifically for pregnant teens and teen moms.
Gateway Woods School
Our on-campus, accredited, school offers students an exceptional education with the proper balance of structure and nurture. Additional components include job skills and independent living training plus after school tutoring and scholarships. Our faculty strives to give each student an academic, moral, and social foundation for a successful future. Comprehensive teamwork and communication between teachers, houseparents, and counselors ensures consistency and effectiveness.
Home-Based Services
Gateway Woods Home-Based Services is a distinctively Christian program that revolves around one concept: the family. Families are the cornerstone of our society and the primary source of a child's nurturing, identity, and stability. We work intensively with at-risk families as prevention before major problems occur, as a supplement during a child's placement, and as continuing support after a child returns home.
Foster Care
Our highly trained and experienced staff offer specialized and therapeutic foster care. We maintain frequent contact, have 24-hour emergency service, and provide solid biblically oriented training for our deeply committed Christian foster families. As a team, we provide all necessary services to meet the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of children of all ages.
Adoption
In recent years, Gateway Woods has facilitated over 100 adoptions for Christian families in recent years in Indiana. We provide quality, affordable, and family-focused services for both international and domestic adoptions. Our caring, skilled, and diligent professionals do everything possible to make this complex process a successful, affordable and joyous experience.
