Gateway Woods/Apostolic Christian Children's Home was founded by love for lost and wounded children, by faith that God provides and heals, and by obedience to God's Word and leading. In 1976, our residential childcare program opened two group homes on a beautiful 50-acre campus near Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Over the years, Gateway Woods' ministries have steadily grown. Program additions and facility expansions include:
- Residential Care - 1976
- Child and family counseling - 1979

- A third group home - 1988

- Gateway Woods School - 1997
- International and domestic adoption - 2001
- A residential program for pregnant teens and teen moms - 2005

Our programs are grounded in a biblical perspective and provided by a dedicated Christian staff. Throughout the years, each new component of service has sprung from our skilled workers' awareness and our leadership's clear commitment to the pressing needs of the whole child, the whole family, the whole problem. As a result, today Gateway Woods is a provider of choice for a variety of children's services in northeast Indiana and beyond.
Partnering with God, we are in the business of turning lives around. Our utmost desire and vision is that more children and parents will hear, see and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. With your help we can expand the scope and capacity of our services so that:
- more at-risk teens will witness what a loving Christian marriage and family can be.
- more infants abandoned in foreign orphanages will find a "forever home" with an American Christian family.
- more troubled children will find security and love in a stable foster home.
- more young people with emotional and learning problems will receive the individual attention they require in a structured classroom.
- more parents will receive the biblically-based counseling and training they need to find hope for their marriages and children.
- many serious problems and crimes with their related costs will be prevented as issues are addressed in youth. Rebirth versus rehabilitation produces a great "return on investment."

Family-Focused Residential Care
Providing residential child care for abused, neglected or delinquent teens in a caring, Christian environment is at the heart of our campus. In addition to our unique houseparent approach, we also provide individual, group, and family counseling, and parent training. A special program designed for pregnant teens and teen moms serves girls in crisis.
Gateway Woods School
Our on-campus accredited school offers students an exceptional education with the proper balance of nurture and structure. Additional components include job skills and independent living training plus tutoring and scholarships. Our faculty strives to give each student an academic, moral and social foundation for a successful future.
Home-Based Services
Home-Based Services is a distinctively Christian program that revolves around one concept: the family. We work intensively with at-risk families in prevention before major problems occur, as a supplement during a child's placement and with continuing support after a child returns home.
Foster Care
Our highly trained and experienced staff offers specialized and therapeutic foster care through our deeply committed Christian foster families. As a team, we supply all necessary services to meet the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of children of all ages.
Adoption
In recent years, Gateway Woods has facilitated over 100 adoptions for Christian families in Indiana. We provide quality, affordable and family-focused services for both international and domestic adoptions. Our caring, skilled and diligent professionals make this complex process a successful, affordable and joyous experience.
